Tesla has been at the forefront of electric vehicle innovation. When it comes to charging technology they are an order of magnitude ahead. Recently, Tesla unveiled its latest charging solution, the Magic Dock CCS1, which has the potential to transform the way all EVs are charged. The first installation of the magic dock was spotted in Verona, New York.
A Tesla Supercharger modified with a Magic Dock attchment enables the charger to automatically attach the correct addapter based on the type of car it is charging. (CCS1) plug or a Tesla NACS plug. This technology means that it can charge not only Tesla vehicles but any car that utilizes the CCS1 standard.

Magic Dock is how all electric vehicles will be able to utilize the Tesla Supercharging Network, the most reliable charging network in North America, with just one cable.
This is how it works:
For Teslas: The experience is the same, the cable… https://t.co/831eXBo6yb pic.twitter.com/FNUKuHfrlN
The charging process for Tesla owners will remain the same. For non Tesla owners, they'll have to download the Tesla app, input payment info and select the stall they're charging at. It will be interesting to see how the network expands and if congestion will be an issue during peak holiday travel. I don't anticipate this to be an issue because allowing access to the super charger network for all EVs will bring in additional revenue and this will help to further grow the charging network.
