According to the report, Tesla vehicles recorded one crash per 6.88 million miles driven with Autopilot engaged, which is 79% safer than driving without Autopilot and 91% safer than the U.S. national average, where one crash occurs every 670,000 miles. This highlights the significant safety benefits of Tesla's Autopilot technology.

In addition to crash statistics, Tesla also shared data on vehicle fires. From 2012 to 2022, Tesla vehicles experienced one fire per 130 million miles—86% lower than the U.S. average of one fire per 18 million miles. Tesla's data even includes incidents not directly related to the vehicle, such as wildfires and arson, underscoring the robustness of their safety record.
