FSD V12.5 Rollout
Tesla has begun rolling out the Full Self-Driving (FSD) V12.5 update to consumers. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with both new and experienced testers praising the improvements in the system's real-world performance. This update represents a significant step forward in the advanced driver-assist system’s capabilities.
Last night as Tesla FSD 12.5 drove me home for 45 minutes with zero interventions, I saw two Cybertrucks with 4680 structural packs pass by on Sunset Boulevard.

Upcoming Features: Actual Smart Summon
Elon has confirmed that the highly anticipated Actual Smart Summon (ASS) feature will be included in the FSD V12.5.x releases expected next month. This exciting feature will allow Teslas to unpark, navigate parking lots, and pick up passengers autonomously. It's a major advancement that brings us closer to fully autonomous vehicles.
Team Efforts and Community Feedback
Tesla's Machine Learning Scientist, Tony Duan, recently shared insights on social media about the hard work that went into the V12.5 update. He mentioned that the release was the result of many late nights and a lot of dedication from the Tesla team. Duan expressed pride in the update and encouraged everyone to try it out.
“Lots of hard work and many late nights went into the making of FSD 12.5, from across the team. Many ideas were simplified and re-worked from first principles. Hope everyone has a chance to try it out. It’s a release we’re proud of,” Duan wrote.

Future Developments
With the upcoming release of Actual Smart Summon, users are already looking forward to the next big feature: Banish. This feature will enable Teslas to park themselves without a driver, adding another layer of convenience and autonomy. Together, Actual Smart Summon, Banish, and FSD V12.5.x bring Tesla closer to realizing Elon's vision of Robotaxis.
Yes. Technically ASS is separate code, but it will be bundled with 12.5.x next month.
