Cybertruck Prototype Spotted: Truck from the Future

A new iteration of the Tesla Cybertruck prototype was recently spotted during on-road testing near the company's headquarters in Palo Alto. With production expected to begin in Summer 2023, the latest prototype shows several updates from previous models. The prototype was spotted by: Flavio Tronzano and posted to instagram.

Revised Side Mirrors:

One noticeable difference in the latest prototype is the triangular-shaped side mirrors, a departure from previous designs. Originally, Tesla intended to offer the Cybertruck without side mirrors, but current US laws necessitated the addition of mirrors. As a result, the Cybertruck will feature these smaller, triangular mirrors that can be easily removed.

Functioning Features:

This latest prototype also showcases a functioning rear tonneau cover and rear windows, demonstrating the progress being made in the development process. Tesla's Chief Designer, Franz von Holzhausen, has previously stated that the Cybertruck is ready from a design perspective, and CEO Elon Musk has tweeted that he recently reviewed the production beta prototype and found it to be "incredible." Another thing we noticed on this prototype was that the rear light bar is not on. Hopefully, the production model will have the rear light bar. UPDATE: Elon Musk has confirmed that the production model will have a light bar.

Prototype Rollout:

Working Cybertruck prototypes have been scarce on the road until now, but this is set to change in the near future. Tesla's Vice President of Vehicle Engineering, Lars Moravy, has confirmed that the company has started installation of production equipment and building beta vehicles, with ramp-up expected in 2024.

During the recent Q4 earnings call, Elon Musk announced that production of the all-electric truck will begin in Summer 2023, with a ramp-up planned for 2024. With the recent sighting, Elon tweeted, "Still many small tweaks to make it better...but this is very close to production design."

We've have our day one reservations on hand and are absolutly thrilled for the Cybertruck!
